Which Electric Ford Vehicle Has the Longest Range
Long-Range Ford Electric Vehicles
Ford has two of the most exciting electric vehicles for sale today. The Ford F-150 electric truck - the Lightning - has taken the world by storm. With its roomy interior, spacious “frunk,” and speeding charging, it’s the perfect pickup truck for anyone who craves versatility and power. The other innovative Ford EV is the sporty Mustang Mach-E.
The affordably priced EV brings the Mustang styling into a new era. You can explore the Ford EV lineup and the exceptional range at Wood Motor Ford Carthage near Kendricktown and Webb City.
The Ford F-150 Lightning
The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning is a full-size pickup truck with eye-popping horsepower and torque. All trims come with two electric motors, all-wheel drive, and the option of two battery sizes. The Standard-Range 98.0-kWh battery delivers 452 horsepower, while the Extended-Range 131.0-kWh battery has 580 horses with 775 lb-ft of torque.
The F-150 Lightning is a heavy EV but still delivers plenty of range. The 98.0-kWh battery delivers 230 miles of range on a single charge, and the Extended-Range battery gets an EPA-estimated 320 miles of range on a charge.
At a Level 3 DC fast charger, the F-150 Lightning goes from 15% to 80% in about 44 minutes. With a Level 2 home charging system, you’ll fill up your Lightning’s battery overnight. Best of all, the F-150 Lightning can serve as a backup generator that provides up to three days of household electricity.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E
Ford offers the legendary Mustang with several gas-powered engines, including the iconic 5.0-liter V8, and drivers who want more torque and zero emissions can choose the Mustang Mach-E with a variety of motor and battery combinations. Like the F-150 Lightning, the Mustang Mach-E is available with a standard-range 70.0-kWh battery or an extended-range 91.0-kWh battery. Drivers can choose a single-motor Mach-E with rear-wheel drive or a dual-motor model with all-wheel drive.
With AWD EVs, the horsepower and torque increase, but the range decreases. The Mach-E GT with AWD delivers 480 horsepower and 634 lb-ft of torque with a battery range of about 266 miles on a full charge. The rear-wheel-drive models with a single engine have up to 290 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque.
Depending on the configuration, the Mustang Mach-E gets between 250 and 320 miles of range. You’ll get more range from the single-motor models, but more power and fun with the dual-motor models - especially when you pop the EV into the Unbridled driving mode. Like the F-150 Lightning, the Mach-E needs a full night of charging with a Level 2 at-home charger, and it will go from 15% to 80% in about 45 minutes at a public DC fast charging station
