Performance and Tech Features in the 2025 Ford Mustang

Happy Anniversary to the Iconic Pony Car

After a redesign in 2024, the legendary Ford Mustang gets another special treatment in 2025: a 60th Anniversary Edition. This model continues the trend-setting performance and styling drivers expect from the legendary pony car with subtle retro cues that harken back to its debut in 1965. Ford still offers the Mustang as a fastback coupe or convertible in the EcoBoost, GT, and 60th Anniversary trim levels. The Dark Horse is only available as a coupe.

Drivers from Joplin to Webb City can find the 2025 Ford Mustang at Wood Motor Ford Carthage. Our sales team will help you choose your favorite trim, powertrain, and packages, while our finance team can help build a loan or lease and help you value your trade.

What’s Under the Hood of the 2025 Mustang

The Ford Mustang doesn’t just look fast - it IS fast. It’s incredibly fun to drive, thanks to the power under the hood and the agile handling drivers want in a rear-wheel drive sports car. Drivers can choose from three engine options - all with satisfying power and torque.

The entry-level engine is a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder that delivers 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Drivers who choose the Mustang GT get the legendary 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated V8 with 480 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The pinnacle of performance comes from the Dark Horse model with the same 5.0-liter engine tuned to put out 500 horses.

All engines come standard with a 10-speed automatic transmission, but drivers who want more control of the horsepower and torque can opt for a six-speed manual in the GT and Dark Horse models.

Mustang’s fuel economy drops as the power increases. Based on the body style and configurations, the entry-level EcoBoost engine gets an EPA-estimated fuel rating between 21/29 and 22/33 MPG. The V8 engines get an EPA-estimated fuel rating between 16/24 and 14/22 based on the trim and body style.

Innovative Tech for Entertainment and Safety

The entry-level EcoBoost trim comes loaded with popular tech features. It has a 12.4-inch digital gauge cluster and a 13.2-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and FordPass Connect. Drivers also get a Wi-Fi hotspot, a pair of USB ports, and six speakers. Ford offers a High package with HD Radio, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, and nine speakers.

Even though the Mustang is a sports car, Ford doesn’t skimp on safety tech. The entry-level trim comes with Forward Collision Warning, Forward Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane-Departure Warning, Lane-Keep Assist, Blind-Spot Monitoring, Automatic High Beams, Rear Parking Sensors, and a Rearview Camera.

Drivers who move up to the EcoBoost Premium trim get additional interior tech features like wireless device charging, ambient LED lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, remote start, and infotainment features from the EcoBoost High package. The Premium High package adds extra safety tech like Adaptive Cruise Control, Driver-Attention Monitoring, and Traffic-Sign Recognition.
